ISO 9000 Experience:
Concord Solutions has an associate who led the ISO 9000
effort at IBM's Application Software Development Lab in
Southlake, Texas.
Concord Solutions has two associates who participated in
the ISO 9000 effort at IBM's Application Software
Development Lab in Rochester, Minnesota. This was the first
software lab in the U.S. to achieve ISO 9000 status. Project

Concord Solutions has an associate who was certified at IBM
as Project Manager for both U.S. and multi-national
projects. He managed and successfully completed projects at
IBM's World Trade Headquarters, as well as multi-national
projects at IBM's development labs in the UK, the
Netherlands and in Greece. In some cases the work was
performed for IBM proper, in some cases for small IBM
subsidiaries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
This associate taught project management courses at IBM's
International Education Center in La Hulpe, Belgium and
hosted cross-functional technical discussions of emerging
technologies for both IT and functional management from
various IBM operations. He is certified in Accelerated SAP,
the SAP project methodology, for both 3x and 4x releases. He
has served multiple projects as a Functional Team Lead as
well as the SAP Project Manager.
Concord Solutions has another associate who has provided
consulting services for management of several Fortune 100
and 500 companies. These services included project
management and product strategy consultation for IBM
Toronto, Texas Instruments, Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, IBM
Lexington, and others. He has also lead seminars for Senior
Managers and seminars for Project Managers at Toronto
Dominion, the second largest Bank in Canada, and at Lexmark.
This associate was invited to be a Guest Editor of IEEE
Software's Special Issue on Managing Object-Oriented
Development (volume 29, number 9). He co-authored the
article introducing the Special Issue and co-headed the
referee process by which scholarly papers were selected for
inclusion.
Internet Awards
Concord Solutions has an associate who is the author and
maintainer of the Internet hosted C++ FAQ list, the official
Frequently Asked Questions list for the C++ language.
Developed on the Internet since 1991, it has an estimated
worldwide readership nearing five hundred thousand people
and enjoys consistently high reviews. It is hosted in a
dozen countries and has been translated into six languages:
English, Russian, Chinese (Mainland), Taiwanese Chinese,
French and Portuguese. This web site has received the Key
Resource Award from Links To Go, and both the White and Blue
Awards from the Developer Exchange.
This associate is also an originating co-author of the
CORBA FAQ, the official web site for Frequently Asked
Questions on CORBA technology. Developed and published on
the Internet since 1996, it is being hosted in four
countries (USA, Ukraine, India and Germany) and appears in
three languages: English, Japanese, Korean. This web site
has received the Top 100 Award from Big-Mir, the SL Award
from SpyLOG, and the M6 Award from Kiev.UA.
Authorship
Concord Solutions has an associate who is the lead
co-author of the successful book C++ FAQs, Addison-Wesley
publishers. The book has sold over ten times its initial
printing, has been reprinted a dozen times in two editions,
was translated into Japanese, and gets five-star reviews at
Amazon.com and other bookstores.
This associate is a contributor to several other books
including Building Application Frameworks (Wiley and Sons
Publishers) and Problem Solving, Abstraction and Design
using C++ (Addison-Wesley Publishers). He is also the author
or co-author of numerous articles on various technical
subjects.
He is a co-creator of the Enduring Business Theme approach.
This approach was highlighted in the Communications of the
ACM and a Wiley and Sons book, and has been used in several
companies including UPS, HP, IBM, and Canada Trust bank.
